Life Lessons from an Onion..

In our lives we have the good, the bad, and the ugly. Nobody is perfect and as humans we all know of something in our lives that we'd rather not have anyone else see. We may look good on the outside and the world may think we're ok but does that even matter? Jesus is the only one that we should try to impress, and He is the only one that can see right through our hearts to the good, the bad, and the ugly. Because He can see it all, even better then we can ourselves, He is the one would can change our hearts and make them new. He wants our hearts to be so pure that they are unspotted and undefiled from the sin of this world. Jesus has the power to recreate and make us new, and He will if we ask Him. Seeing this onion today just made me stop to think. God, is that what I look like? Object lessons are one of the best ways to see and understand spiritual things, I know I was blessed by this one, and I hope it will be a blessing to you as well.

Let it snow!

I was kinda disappointed cause I didn't get any good pics of our first snowfall besides a quick one on my phone before heading down to Andrews a couple of weeks ago. I'd had high hopes at the time that it would be there when I got back, but it wasn't. When I woke up yesterday and looked out my window every branch was laced in white! I was so excited. I had learn my lesson, I would get some picutures before going to work beacuase 1. I knew it would melt and 2. it would be dark when I got home. Sure enough, that was the reality, and now we hardly have more than an inch.

I want to dedicate this post to Bethany Gerber who is in Tanzania. Hope this gives you a taste of home. I know your missing snow and here's some to bringthen you day! :)

a sunset...

Over the last month, there have been some of the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets. I think its because I actually see them either when I am driving to or from work and school. I've often thought that it would be awesome if I could drive and take pictures at the same time but that would be a fail. I just love how every sunset and sunrise is different, God is truly the best artist ever. When I see the painting that he had set in the universe I think of the verse that says the heaven's declare the glory of God and the firmament showeth his handiwork.
